sonoro audio Named CES Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Award Honoree

NEW YORK, NY sonoro audio today announced that it has been named an International CES Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for elements W. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the trade press to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products.
sonoro's elements W is a cutting-edge Internet radio offering access to over 13,000 Internet radio stations searchable by genre or region. With its additional iPod charging dock, sonoro will be merging today's two most popular music sources -- Internet radio and iPod players -- into one solution. Users can also stream their music libraries from their PCs and connect elements W to their home stereo system. An included RF remote also allows for control of the product from a distance. elements W comes in a high-gloss black or white lacquered finish with a glowing LED illuminated ring for intuitive control of tuning and volume. Like all sonoro products, elements W's handcrafted curved-corner, all-wood housing encases the company's 360o Sound Technology. This technology combines a bass reflex tube and full-range, upward-facing speaker that blends right and left channel audio into full stereo for optimal acoustics.

"We launched our US operations at 2008 International CES and it is a great honor to be recognized by the Consumer Electronics Association at this year's event for our achievements in innovation," said Marcell Faller, CEO of sonoro audio. "This award acknowledges us in front of industry leaders and reaffirms the strong US presence we've established very quickly."

As a widely-renowned consumer technology awards program that began in 1976, the prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards recognize achievements in product design and engineering. It is sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)(R), the producer of the International CES, the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow, and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the voice of industrial design, committed to advancing the profession through education, information, community and advocacy.

sonoro's elements W will be displayed at the 2009 International CES, January 8-11 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase will feature honorees by product category at the Sands Expo and Convention Center/The Venetian, Booth #72062. Best of Innovations honoree products will also be displayed at the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center, next to Experience CEA and at CES Unveiled: The Official Press Event of the International CES on Tuesday, January 6.

The Innovations entries are judged based on the following criteria:

-- Engineering qualities, based on technical specs and materials used -- Aesthetic and design qualities, using photos provided -- The product's intended use / function and user value -- Unique / novel features that consumers would find attractive

Products chosen as an Innovations honoree reflect innovative design and engineering of the entries. Examples may include the first time various technologies are combined in a single product or dramatic enhancements to previous product designs.

Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering honoree products are featured on www.CESweb.org/Innovations, which lists product categories, as well as each product name, manufacturer information, designer, description, photo and URL.
